5 1/2 Months: Toys 'R Us
Maddy has been going to bed earlier these days (at around 8PM) which means when she's up, she's UP and playing times means supplying as much attention, noises, colors, and textures as you can cram in while she's bright eyed and bushy tailed. Poor girl gets so worn out come bed time that she falls asleep with her little mouth hanging open!

Another Snowy Weekend in Pittsburgh!
We just cannot BELIEVE the winter we've had in the 'Burgh this year! There is still about 2.5 feet of snow frozen in our backyard. Some mornings, the ice cycles hanging from the gutter can just about touch the ground! We're bracing for another winter storm this Monday and hoping mother nature goes a little easy on us this time around. Meantime, bitter cold, frosty temperatures make for some excellent family time. This weekend, we brought down that big, beautiful Saint Bella for a visit (Maddy looks at her like, "Woooooow"). Lucy dog loves having a visitor and Bella has fun hopping around our back year like a giant rabbit. Maddy has enjoyed hanging indoors and loves that she's learned how to bounce around in her exersaucer (and on our laps) and that she can sit by herself on the couch and "play toys."

Blizzard of 2010!

On Saturday morning, we awoke to a whopping two feet of snow! It took only 24 hours for the white stuff to pile down on us. We are in a state of disaster emergency for the next several days but thank goodness we did not loose power. Shoveling the snow was quite a workout and we didn't mind spending some time cozying up indoors all weekend. Click here for more pictures of the storm...

Happy Five Month Birthday, Maddy!
Here are five fun facts about our growing bean:
1. Big girl can roll both ways (with some help)
2. She can see from much further distances, turning her head at people's voices and giving a great, big smile
3. Maddy now laughs and laughs when you tickle her (usually near the chin, ribs and belly)
4. She can grab and shake her toys
5. Can barely squeeze into 3 month clothes; now fitting better into 6-month outfits
Everyday, we check for teeth but only a few white nubs are there. We also notice that she is going to bed earlier (now around 8-9) and sleeping a good 9-10 hours a night. Now that her "real" hair has come in, she looks so bald in her earlier pictures!
Despite all the changes we see everyday, though, there are still some things that have stayed the same. Maddy still loves to be held, rocked and sung to. She also still loves her baths and insists on warm milk and sleeping in her lamb swing. Here are some pictures of her so you can see how she's grown!

21 Weeks: Our Couch Potato!

At 21 weeks, Maddy is really getting better at sitting up on her own (without support, she lasts about ten seconds; with support, she lasts about forever). She has become very fond of being her own girl and sitting on the couch like a little lady. She loves the view and the independence--just as long as you're looking, talking cooing and/or doting over her at all times, or course. :0)
Last Monday, Maddy had lots of playing during the day with a visit to Heather's house in the afternoon (so mommy could get some work done) and then a visit later that night to Grandma's, while Mommy & Daddy went to see the Pens vs. Sabres game! Needless to say, everyone was pooped come Tuesday morning.
