Maddy's Spring Trip to Buffalo

Maddy just got back from a weekend visiting family in Buffalo. She did much better on this car ride (we did not have to stop once on the way up or the way home!). She had a blast playing with all the kids, laughing at Bailey chasing Lucy dog, and just being the center of attention! She even squeezed in a visit to ... the Easter Bunny! She learned he's not so scary after all!

6 1/2 Months: Spring Chicken!

Maddy and Mommy had a joyful reunion last Saturday after Mommy returned from a week-long business trip in the Poconos. Maddy enjoyed spending lots of time with her daddy and going up to grandma & pappy's house to play while Mommy was gone.

There is lots of mommy and Maddy time to make up for, though, and the 70-degree weather has definitely helped! Our little spring chicken just loves playing in the grass, which she did for the first time yesterday, and basking in the warm sunshine in the park and on walks with Lucy dog. As you can see, she's all smiles!

Almost Spring

We got a spring tease last week with temps in the 60s! Our nearly 3-feet of snow has just about all melted away and we even had rain (RAIN- NOT SNOW!) this weekend. We are really looking forward to having more family days in the park, like the one we had at Indian Lake, and enjoying the fresh air! Lucy doesn't seem to mind so much either. ;0)

Jumping Bean!

Six Months: Happy Birthday, Happy Feet!

Today, Maddy is six months old!!! She gets more precious--and more entertaining--with each day. She loves jumping and rocking back and forth in your lap. She also reaches out for you and grabs any (and every!) thing in her reach. From there, it often goes directly into her mouth. We've made a few attempts at feeding her solids, but she is still warming up to that idea. She definitely recognizes the good stuff (her bottle) when she sees it and now grabs it toward her when it gets within her reach. Another new fascination lately is the bottom of objects. The other day, I had an empty bottle sitting on the table next to her. It only took about a second for her to grab it, turn it upside down, and start chomping away at the bottom. One of the funniest things to see, though, are her little feet doing a jitter-bug while she's hopping around in her jumperoo. So cute!

Jumping Bean!

Maddy's new favorite activity is jump-jump-jumping around in her jump-a-roo! She also thinks Lucy girl is hilarious and tries very hard to make friends (Lucy, meanwhile, is still warming up to this whole baby thing...). Maddy doesn't seem to mind, though. She just keeps on laughing and bouncing...

Maddy's First Bug :0(

You certainly wouldn't know it by looking at our always smiley little girl, but she was bitten by her first little sick bug this week. Her doctor's orders? Lots of hugs, rest and kisses. After a few days of getting sick and slapping away her bottle, Maddy has started drinking more milk and having less "emergency" diaper changes. We are hoping for a full recovery by the weekend (just in time for her 6-month birthday!).
