Arts Fest '11!

Maddy got her first taste of PSU Arts Fest this year ... and she shared it with a visit from her cousin Talia Mae, Uncle Mike, Aunt Alysia and her Pappy/Grandma! It was a busy weekend, packed with lots of playing inside/outside, taking "two-for" tubbies, going for walks and, of course, a visit to the Arts Fest -- where the highlight was watching the invincible T take the water bucket challenge with the "big kids" (college students included)!

Maddy 22 Months

Only two more month and Maddy will no longer be just "1." She's already showing signs that she's ready to move on to full-blown toddler-hood with a few new tricks this month:

*Reading to her self: She insists on holding books on her own and "reading" aloud

*Knows 100+ words (her favorites are "Cindy" for "Lucy," wait!, butterfly, flower and, of course, mine!)

*Likes to play dress up (tries on everyone's shoes and likes to "dress" her stuffed animals)

*Understands upside down (she can do this herself and recognizes when her books or animals are sitting "up-down", as she says)

*Learning how to communicate feelings (there's suddenly lots more "uh-ohs", "boo-boos" and "want more"'s around here lately)

Maddy's a Princess!

Maddy's going to be a flower girl in a wedding this October. We tried on her dress the other day and we *think* she likes it .... just a little!

Happy 4th! 2011

Our little firecracker had a wonderful Happy 4th weekend! She kicked it off with a s'mores party with her neighborhood friends on Friday and followed up with a visit the next day from Grandma and Pappy! In keeping with the "spirit" of the weekend, she had a great time celebrating her (growing) independence, telling us how she wanted to walk, run, talk, play and sing all weekend long. Watching her strut around in her sweet little red, white and blue outfits made her cute enough to eat, though.. See for yourself with more pictures from the weekend. Happy 4th!
