Maddy 17 Months

Maddy is an absolute joy at 17 months--and such a big girl! She is getting better at saying words, learning colors, numbers, animals and animal sounds. She has mastered her puzzles and asks us to dance every evening (she's got some good moves, just like her daddy!). Here are a couple of new tricks at 17 months

Can pull off her own socks/shoes
Knows to sit down to put on socks/shoes
Can point to her eyes, nose, mouth, head
Waves and says buh-bye to all cards, people, etc. when they pass
Picks up the camera and says "cheeeeese"
Politely closes doors whenever she leaves a room (or her toy car)
Pushes stuffed doggy "for a walk" in stroller
Says please/thank you
Gives kisses and makes her doggy give kisses, too
Picks up the toy (or real) phone and says "Hello?"
Can go up and down stairs in house (with a helper)

Right now, her favorite foods are pasta, turkey sandwiches, cheese, and apples. Her favorite shows are Sesame Street and Barney, and her favorite toy is her small stuffed doggie. 17 months has been a very exciting age for us and we can't wait to see what the spring brings! We love our little "Tripp!"

Happy Maddy-Tines Day!

Just in time for Valentine's Day, our big girl is giving all kinds of hugs and kisses out like candy! That could be because she was so excited from her Valentine's party at school, where she got a box full of candy/cards, did lots of heart crafts and even played "Pin the Heart on the Boy!" In honor of V-Day, Maddy also wants to send some love to her Tripp/Molloy family in Buffalo who trekked down the other weekend for a visit to Bellefonte (she says Mommy needs to do a better job of posting pictures faster on here!). Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day to all!

It Was So Close...

But no win for our Steelers. At least Maddy got to spend some time with her Grandma and Pappy, who came up for the Super Bowl celebration. This was especially good for her because the poor thing had a double ear infection and terrible cold all weekend! Now we're looking forward to watching American Idol, the rest of the Pens season, Pirates games... and, of course, Steelers training camp in the summer!

Maddy Has a Fever...

Steelers fever, that is! She is counting down to the Super Bowl with us!
Every day we do the Terrible Towel dance to the Steeler's fight song.
Maddy is a natural.
Gooooo Steelers!!!

What Do Big Girls Do?

Big girl things, of course!

Like, eating big girl breakfasts...

And playing on girl toys...

That's what big girls like Maddy do!

Maddy 16 Months

16 months is a great age for Ms. Maddy. She's becoming more and more independent, telling us exactly what she wants... and when she wants it! She really loves to sit and "read" her books. Her favorite toys right now are her Elmo sketch, shape sorter, pink ball and toy car. Our big girl weighs 21 lbs, 9 oz and is 31 3/4" tall. Here she is in action at sweet 16 months...

It's a Wrap: Happy Holidays for 2010

Now that the cookies are eaten, the decorations are down and the presents are all unpacked, we finally (FINALLY) have time to update Maddy's blog on her holiday extravaganza for 2010.

It all started the week before Christmas with a trip to Buffalo. Once again, Maddy entertained everyone with all of her new tricks. She is also getting better at keeping up with all of her cousins--running, laughing and screaming with the best of 'em! Maddy was spoiled with lots of cool presents... a singing/dancing Micky Mouse, a play house, a baby bike, a music station and lots of clothes/books/DVDs.

After our trip, we got ready for the big Christmas day, which included a visit from Grandma and Pappy on Christmas Eve. Maddy got dressed in her pretty dress and was a perfect angel throughout the children's choir Christmas Eve mass. After church, Grandma fried up big batches of shrimp and we ate, drank and celebrated with Maddy.

The next morning... Santa came! Tons more presents were left under the tree from Santa along with a note just for Maddy on what a good girl she was all year. We got to relax on Christmas Day, enjoying good food and company. Maddy loved all the special attention and playing with even more new toys--including her very own car!

She's still figuring out all of her new gadgets but one thing's for sure: This girl had a very Merry Christmas!
