Seven Weeks of Madelyn Ann

It's hard to believe our Maddy is almost two months old already. Every day, she gets cuter and cuter. Here are seven fun facts about our growing girl:

Favorite food: Still milk ... and lots of it, especially at her "peak" eating hours: 9AM, Noon and 4PM!
Favorite song to hear when fussy: Baby Mine
Favorite song to hear when dancing with Mommy: Candy by Paolo Nutini
Favorite noise: Froggy noises from her bassinet
Favorite outing: Afternoon walks at Indian Lake
Longest sleeping stretch: About seven hours (this has happened twice; those were really good nights!)
Best seat in the house: Still her cradle swing, hands down! Although, she'll sit patiently in her glider for mommy to snap a few cutie pie shots (see below).

Maddy, Party of One!

For the past few weeks, Maddy has been spending most of her downtime in her cradle swing. The other day, though, I set her in her bassinet while I got a bottle ready. I turned on its vibrations and music while I was out of the room because she was extra fussy, grunting and screeching for her milk. I came back to find this little bean smiling, giggling, wiggling and cooing away in amazement, having a little party all to herself. As if she had never seen her bassinet before! It appears her senses are getting sharper every day and we love watching her see things in a whole new light. Click here to watch a cute video I took this morning of Mrs. Adorable playing away again in her "new" bassinet.

Maddy the Movie

Here is a very special multimedia project Mommy worked on for Maddy. Click on the link below to view and enjoy!

Lunch with the Girls

This Friday, Maddy had a lunch date with some of her new friends, my old UPJ buddies Carolyn and Lisa plus Lisa's new baby Livvy (born just three days after Maddy). We had to laugh at how the new moms and babies had on matching colors/outfits. I guess us Virgos are just very coordinated! Little Madelyn was very sweet during our visit, keeping her pretty wide eyes on everyone the whole time but without making hardly a peep!

Six Weeks: Maddy McSmiley!

Now six weeks old, Maddy has graced us with her beautiful smile! Here she is giggling at mommy in the morning and smiling away on a gorgeous day at Indian Lake. She just loves to feel the warm sunshine on her face and the cool breeze blow through her toes!

Big Girls Don't Cry

Now that Maddy is getting a full three ounces per feeding, she is really packing on the pounds--and shedding fewer tears! Her 6-8 hour crying jags are altogether gone and she is now up to a hearty 9 pounds, 2 ounces. Stretching out to nearly 22 inches, she is also in the 75 percentile for height. Here she is enjoying a long meal with her daddy and doing some other new "big girl" things, like gazing at the objects on her mobile and swinging away at her toys.

"Madd" Hatter

Maddy has received quite a few lovely new hats recently. Here she is modeling some of this season's finest in baby head wear. . . of course, some of these will take a little while to grow into!

One Month Stretch!

Last Monday marked Maddy's One Month Birthday! She celebrated the day by going for a long walk on a beautiful autumn day and, as always, exploring her new-found friends: her voice, fingers, arms, legs and toes. Here she is starting the day with a big stretch to show everyone how loooong she is growing. A couple of her other one-month favorites include: milk (correction: LOTS of milk!), car rides, stroller rides, shopping carts, bouncy chairs, grandma's house, pappy's rocks, fresh air, sunshine, daddy's arms and mommy's voice.

A Fun Fall Weekend

Maddy enjoyed her first taste of fall this weekend with a stroll through Oak Hallow Park (Lucy dog proudly led the way through "her" park) and a visit from her Pocono friends, Erin and Greg. She did not don her Steelers jersey this Sunday night, however, because Grammy had given her a bath and she was just too darn cozy to get changed out of her footsy PJs. Maybe next week, she says. :0)
